The Missing Note In The Church
Why harmony with The LORD matters more than numbers, programs or plans
Last time, I wrote about why the church isn’t changing America the way it should. The truth is, many in the house of prayer are not in unity because they’re not in harmony with the LORD. And if we’re not in harmony with Him, everything else falls out of tune.
Think about music for a moment. A choir can be filled with powerful voices, but if each singer is off key, the sound becomes noise instead of beauty. Unity without harmony is just chaos. The same is true in the church. We can pack out pews, organize programs, and fill calendars, but if our lives are not aligned with the Spirit of God, the result is confusion instead of transformation.
So what does it mean to be in harmony with the LORD? It means that our thoughts, actions, and desires are aligned with His Word and His Spirit. It means that instead of chasing our own tune, we tune our hearts to His. Jesus put it this way in John 15:5: “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” Harmony begins with abiding. It’s not about busyness for God, but closeness to God.
Being in harmony also means surrender. In Romans 12:2, Paul reminds us: “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” Harmony requires us to reject the world’s rhythm and be renewed by God’s rhythm. That might mean letting go of habits, desires, or relationships that keep pulling us off key. The Gardener prunes us (John 15) not to hurt us, but to bring our lives into closer harmony with Him.
If this letter has helped you, would you please consider restacking it and sharing with your loved ones. Let’s build a community of freedom walkers who are empowered by the Holy Spirit.
And why is this so important? Because harmony with the LORD is where power flows. The early church in Acts was small in number but mighty in Spirit because they were in one accord, with each other, yes, but more importantly, with God. They prayed in unity, they obeyed in unity, and the Spirit filled them in unity. That harmony shook cities and changed nations. Without it, all we’re left with are empty gatherings that impress people but don’t impact the world.
Brothers and sisters, let me put it plainly: being in harmony with the LORD is not optional, it’s essential. Without it, we burn out. Without it, we divide. Without it, we lose power. But with it? We walk in freedom. We bear fruit that lasts. We move in boldness. And the world sees Jesus through us.
So ask yourself: am I in harmony with Him? Is my life tuned to His voice, or am I trying to play my own melody? If something feels off, it’s time to realign. Pray. Repent. Rest in His presence. And let His Spirit bring you back into harmony.
Because when the people of God walk in harmony with the LORD, unity becomes natural, and revival becomes unstoppable.
With hope and urgency,

What does it mean to you to be in harmony with The LORD? Do you think that’s the first step towards having true unity in the Church? What about racially? Leave a comment below and let’s talk about it.
Pray
Father, thank you for Your power. Teach us, through Your Spirit, how to be in harmony with You, first, knowing that will bring us into unity with each other. Those who wish to sow discord in your body and society, bring conviction on them, and hopefully, they are brought to repentance. We know You don’t want anybody to perish. Our country is in a state of mental chaos, and Your word is being manipulated for personal or racial gain. You will not be made a mockery of. Raise up a number, who abide in You, and unity with each other.
Help those who are caught in persecution right now. Strengthen them. Encourage them. Bring them to safety. May Your word continue to spread like a wild fire. In Christ Jesus, Amen.
